Derek Jackson

I’m now safely on the train to Sligo. Landed in Dublin after a long delay in London. Heathrow is ridiculously big. Lots of walking, and re – routing., and change of gates! After stopping at the ATM, pronounced ATM (ha) and getting my euros, I met Derek Jackson. A wonderful taxi driver that tried as hard as he could to get me to take a taxi to Sligo (pronounced Shleego) instead of the train. It would have been extremely entertaining, but 36 euros vs. 280, well, I liked you Derek, and thanks for the lovely chat, one day we’ll meet again, maybe in Meade. I almost forgot to mention that Dereks’ father also was a taxi driver, for 38 years.  He had a small picture of his dad right there on the dashboard keeping an eye on his son. My guess is that he would be proud.

Off to meet Leo, my tour guide/farmer, I’m told it will be life changing.

Made it to Heathrow!

Waiting for my next flight, to Dublin. Cannot wait to get there, have a cuppa tea and a biscuit (ha ha), I think I will stop at a local pub for my first traditional beer! The accents are freaking awesome! For those of you that have met Sister Bridget you should soon be imagining her voice! oh my!

So far I truly recommend British airway.. comfortable seats, food ok, but best of all FREE WINE!

Customs was crappy, but I made it! Had my carry on searched, and funny thing for my work friends….The inside looked like my desk at work. Family, just like my desk at home!  It actually looked better after she was done messing it up! Well, hope I haven’t bored you too much, but you have kept me awake and I thank you for your kind attention. More to follow!
